David praised the law of the Lord. He held high the works and creation of the Lord. Chapter nineteen ends with a plea to the redeemer, to keep David blameless and clean from sin. Chapter twenty is a song of David praising God and calling for trust in the Lord in times of trouble. David wrote the Psalm in chapter twenty-one to rejoice in the strength and salvation that comes from the Lord. Chapter twenty-two is a song of prophesy, pointing to the Messiah to come. The first verse is repeated by Jesus in Matthew 27 when He was on the cross. The sorrow that is described is met with a trust in the Father to rescue the perishing.
