David pleaded with the Lord to help him in his time of need. His enemies were eager to see him suffer. David confessed his iniquity and sin, desiring to do right before the Lord. He asked the Lord for peace in chapter thirty-nine, acknowledging his time on earth as a breath. He described himself as a sojourner, or a foreigner traveling through this world. David praised the Lord as his help and deliverer in chapter Forty. He sang a new song of praise for what the Lord had done and for what He would continue to do in his life.
