David described God’s love as steadfast and enduring. He trusted God to love him and protect him against his enemies. Chapter fifty-four is a song of David to God for deliverance when Saul was seeking his death. Chapter fifty-five is a song of David casting his burdens on the Lord. He encouraged trust in God in times of trouble. David wrote chapter fifty-six as a song proclaiming his trust in God while he was being attacked by the Philistines.
