God gives further instructions for worship, including the altar of incense, anointing oil, and sacred offerings. Bezalel is appointed to oversee the craftsmanship of the tabernacle, and the Sabbath is given as a sign between God and Israel.

While Moses remains on the mountain, the people grow impatient and make a golden calf to worship. Moses returns, confronts the rebellion, and intercedes for the people after the covenant is broken.
