Psalm 138 is a song giving thanks to the Lord because of His greatness and because He delivered David from his enemies. Psalm 139 is a song of David proclaiming the thoughts and ways of the Lord. David asked the Lord to search his heart and to lead him in the Lord’s everlasting way. David continued his praise of the Lord in Psalm 140. He asked the Lord to deliver him from his enemies. He was confident that the righteous would be with the Lord and the Lord would execute justice for the needy. Today’s reading finishes with a song of David asking the Lord to hear his cry for help. He asked Him to guard and protect his ways from evil.
