We begin our reading today in Proverbs, a book of wisdom. These writings are not promises to be claimed. Proverbs are to be read with the intent of gaining knowledge and understanding in righteousness. These words of wisdom were given to us by God through Solomon. They are more than wise statements of man. The first two chapters begin the introduction to wisdom and knowledge and its application in life. The wise will value wisdom and turn from sin. The wicked will be cut off from the blessings of God.
