Reading: Psalm 46:1-11

Devotional: During the Blitz, air raid shelters didn't stop the bombs from falling. The planes still roared overhead, explosions still shook the ground, the danger remained 100% real. But the shelter changed everything—not by eliminating the threat, but by providing presence. Strangers became companions. Fear transformed into resilience. Children could sleep because someone was keeping watch. This is the Emmanuel promise: not that God removes every hardship, but that He enters it with us. "Be still, and know that I am God," the psalmist writes. Today, stop asking God to make your problems disappear. Instead, invite Him into the shelter of your struggle. His presence doesn't end the war, but it changes how you face it.
