DAY 32 — THE WILTED FLOWER

A florist threw a wilted flower into the bin—
its petals drooping,
its stem bent,
its color fading.

An apprentice noticed and pulled it out.
“Give me one day,” she said.

She trimmed the stem,
placed it in fresh water,
added nutrients,
and left it in the sunlight.

By the next morning, the flower stood upright again—
alive, bright, reborn.

The florist shook his head in amazement:
“I gave up too quickly.”

 
You have parts of your life you’ve thrown away too quickly:
dreams that wilted,
relationships that bent,
prayers that faded,
hope that drooped.

But God is a divine gardener.
He rescues what looks dead.
He trims, heals, nourishes,
and reveals the hidden strength still within you.

Lent invites you to bring your wilted places to God.
Nothing is too lifeless for resurrection.
Not even the parts of you
you’ve already given up on.
