The Lord spoke to the people who were taken to Babylon. He told them to marry and multiply while in Babylon. He told them He would bring them back from exile in seventy years. He told them to seek Him with all their hearts and they would find Him. He proclaimed judgement upon those who did not go into exile. The Lord condemned Shemaiah, a false prophet, for using the Lord’s name and speaking lies to His people. The Lord encouraged His people. He promised to relieve the burden of the “yoke” put on them in Babylon. He promised to punish those who would go against them. His plan to provide a “Prince” among them would be realized.
