Today's reading of Genesis 44 and 45 sees Joseph playing jokes on his brothers after many years of isolation. But to his brothers, this could be life or death. Judah, in a selfless act, offers to give up his own life for his brethren; just like Christ, who will be born of the tribe of Judah many years later.
