Jeremiah was held by the king of Judah for prophesying justice against Judah. Jeremiah received a message from God that was confirmed through the purchase of a field. The Lord promised to restore the land and His people after punishment and justice against the children of Israel and Judah for turning to other gods and turning their backs to the Lord. The Lord made a covenant with His people to restore and bless them. If the Lord’s people turned from Him, He would not allow their descendants to be on the thrown of David.
