What’s up, it’s your Hokage Haneef. For Day 5 of our 29 Days of Blackness, I wanted to talk about Cree Summer.
Like many of us children of the 80s, we were first introduced to Cree as Freddie in the TV sitcom “Different World” but what some of us may not have known was that by the time that show aired, she was already an accomplished voice actor. Her earliest known role was in 1983 as the original voice of Penny in the Inspector Gadget cartoon. For the next 37 years she’s been in our lives, giving life to some of our favorite characters.
To say Cree Summer is talented is vastly understating her abilities. She is one of the few, if not the only one (I may have to do a deep dive online to find out) to say they are part of the DC/Marvel/Disney/Starwars/Jim Henson/Transformers/Voltron universes.
Check out the audio to hear me do a deeper dive into all that is Cree Summer
