60 Second Prayers for Muslims during Ramadan

Day 5 - Faith Comes by Hearing

Listen Later

transcript:

Day 5: In mosques, each night 1/30th of the Qur’an is read aloud in Arabic during Ramadan so that all of it can be heard within the thirty days. The problem is that 80% of Muslims, especially those in South Asia, do not understand Arabic, making these readings essentially meaningless. The Bible tells us that Faith comes by Hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Let’s pray that a deep frustration over the lack of understanding would create a hunger to know God’s Word and the God who has spoken it.

Oh Father, we know that you are a God who loves to communicate and to make yourself known and you have made yourself known through your Word and through your Son Jesus Christ. Lord, during this month, we do ask that you would stir in Muslims a desire to know their creator, to read your Word, and a hunger for a meaningful relationship with you - one that can only be had through Jesus. Amen - Let it be so.

Today, consider meditating on: John 1:1-18.

If you know a Muslim, consider asking them, with the intent to Listen: Do you read God’s Word? Why or why not?
