Jesus felt his power come out of him! In a crowd full of people, he felt the touch of one person through her faith. Through the persistence of one woman, he lost power.
I can’t imagine all the mental, physical, spiritual suffering and fatigue this lady went through. Years of not knowing how long she may live and possibly being anemic, which decreased her ability to work. While being ostracized by her family, friends and community. If a great amount of power came out of Jesus, God on earth, then a lot of anguish preceded it.
This is the first time in Jesus’ ministry that he felt power leave. With all the healing and casting out demons, we never get the same rhetoric as losing power.
