God commanded priests to be holy and protect the purity of the sanctuary of God. He continued to remind Israel and the priests of His power and holiness. He required Israel to recognize this as they approached Him and the place that represented His presence. God gave instructions for handling and partaking of things dedicated to Him. Animals offered as a sacrifice were required to be perfect, without blemish. Again, God foreshadowed the One perfect sacrifice, Jesus, who would give His life once and for all to complete the law. God demanded that He be honored as their God.
