Open Heaven Podcast – Day 64: Bearing Fruit in Keeping with Repentance
📖 Scripture Focus: Matthew 3:5-10
"Then Jerusalem, all of Judea, and all the region around the Jordan were going out to him; and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, as they confessed their sins. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, ‘You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Therefore, produce fruit consistent with repentance; and do not assume that you can say to yourselves, “We have Abraham as our father”; for I tell you that God is able, from these stones, to raise up children for Abraham. And the axe is already being laid at the root of the trees; therefore, every tree that does not bear good fruit is being cut down and thrown into the fire.’" (NASB)
🎧 Episode Description:
In today’s episode of 90 Days Walking with the Holy Spirit, we take a powerful look at Matthew 3:5-10, where John the Baptist calls people to bear fruit in keeping with repentance. But what does this really mean?
The Greek word for fruit, karpos, means the product or result of something else. True repentance is not just a moment—it is a transformational process that produces visible, lasting change in our lives. When we walk with the Holy Spirit, He works within us to produce fruit that reflects our new life in Christ.
John the Baptist’s warning was clear: fruitless trees are cut down. This is a challenge for every believer. Are we producing fruit that reflects true repentance? Are we allowing the Holy Spirit to shape our lives?
🔥 In this episode, we’ll discuss:
✔️ The meaning of karpos (fruit) in Greek and why it matters.
✔️ Why repentance is not just words, but a lifestyle of transformation.
✔️ How walking with the Holy Spirit produces fruit that proves we belong to Jesus.
✔️ The danger of complacency and the call to bear good fruit.
