Saints in a Year

Day 75: St. Felix of Nola

Listen Later

Today the Church honors St. Felix of Nola, a priest of the early Church whose faith was tested during Roman persecution. Known for his courage, humility, and love for the poor, St. Felix chose fidelity to Christ over comfort, power, or recognition.

In this episode of Saints in a Year, Saul shares 7 in-depth reflections on the life of St. Felix of Nola. You will learn how he protected his bishop during persecution, endured imprisonment, lived in voluntary poverty, and continued serving the Church quietly even after danger passed. His witness was so powerful that St. Augustine later preached in his honor.

St. Felix reminds us that holiness is not always dramatic. Faithfulness lived with humility, generosity, and perseverance can leave a lasting mark on the Church and on the world.

đź’¬ Thought to Remember

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 5:10

Reflection:

This verse reflects how St. Felix lived his priesthood under threat and hardship. He chose fidelity over safety and charity over self-preservation. It invites us to remain faithful to Christ even when doing so costs us comfort or security.

St. Felix of Nola,

faithful priest and witness of charity,
