As we continue 21 Days of Abiding in Christ, today’s focus is on John 15:10, where Jesus teaches that abiding in God’s love is directly tied to our obedience.

Many people separate love from obedience, but Jesus makes it clear—they are one and the same. When we truly understand that God’s love and the fruit of the Spirit are one, we begin to see that obeying His commands isn’t a burden, but a pathway to true freedom and growth.

However, obedience isn’t always easy—sometimes God’s commands go against our flesh, and that’s exactly why pruning is necessary. The Father prunes us so we can bear more fruit, and part of that fruit is self-control—learning to love ourselves enough to live in alignment with God’s will.
