As the Israelites' escape from Egypt, Moses climbs Mount Sinai several times to speak with God and bring his message to his people. Exodus 24:18 says "But Moses entered into the midst of the cloud and went up on the mountain. He was on the mountain for forty days and forty nights." This cloud represented a visible sign of God's presence.

Today God is asking you, are you open to my signs? Are you willing to come into my presence and listen to me? Moses does not go up Mount Sinai and come down immediately with a report. As he entered God's presence he remained with Him, taking his time to not only hear but listen. And it is through this active listening that God invites his people to build a sanctuary for him to dwell in their midst. Today God also seeks to speak to our hearts and dwell among us.
