Men of Israel were commanded to honor vows and oaths. Women were likewise commanded to honor vows and oaths, but if a young woman’s vow or oath was opposed by her father, it was not binding on her. Likewise, if a woman was married and her husband opposed her vow or oath, it was not binding on her.
