Believers in Corinth brought joy to Paul through their faithfulness. Believers encouraged one another, even in the face of persecution and trials. Paul’s previous message to the church condemned actions that were ungodly. He was confident that his message led them to repentance. Paul urged the church to give generously for the sake of others who were in need. He explained their generosity reflected their understanding of the grace they received from Christ. Paul commended Titus and others he sent to minister as men who had been tested and found to be faithful. He urged the church to continue in love and faithfulness.
