Throughout Deuteronomy 17 through 20 Moses establishes the roles of the priesthood, judges, and kings, and further tells the Israelites about rules regarding intentional and unintentional sins. We hear from God that He will raise up a prophet like Moses, one we will listen to and one that will deliver us from this world, and so the Israelites began to wait for this promised Messiah.
