Salvation begins with God's mercy, not human movement.

Everything changes with two words: "But God."

Paul moves from death to life, showing that salvation is not something we initiate but something God performs. because of His rich mercy and great love, He makes the spiritually dead alive with Christ. This is grace (undeserved favor) at its highest expression- God giving life where there was none, not because of worthiness, but because of His love.
