Day 9 – Setting Up & Submitting Your Podcast 🎙️
Welcome to Day 9 of the 30-Day Podcast Challenge! 🚀
Today’s episode is a tactical walkthrough to ensure everything is set up properly so your podcast is live and ready to be heard!
Checklist: Ensure Your Podcast is Ready to Launch ✅
Head to Buzzsprout and confirm you have:
✔ Podcast Name (Finalized on Day 2)
✔ Podcast Description (Finalized on Day 3)
✔ Podcast Cover Art (Uploaded on Day 6 or 8)
✔ Podcast Category (Selected based on your theme)
✔ Trailer Episode (Uploaded & Live)
Once these are done, your podcast is officially live on Buzzsprout! 🎉
Buzzsprout Free vs. Paid Plan
🔹 Buzzsprout is free for 90 days, but after that, your episodes will be deleted unless you upgrade to a paid plan.
🔹 If you don’t pay, your podcast can stay live, but only episodes from the last 90 days will be available.
🔹 The paid plan is low-cost and worth keeping as a long-term marketing asset.
Submitting Your Podcast to Major Directories
While your podcast can stay on Buzzsprout only, submitting it to major directories increases visibility and helps you reach a wider audience.
🔹 Apple Podcasts (Most-used podcast platform)
🔹 Spotify (Second-most used platform)
🔹 Google Podcasts & Amazon Music (Optional, but great for reach)
📌 How to Submit to Apple & Spotify:
1️⃣ Go to your Buzzsprout Dashboard
2️⃣ Click on "Directories"
3️⃣ Follow the steps to submit to Apple & Spotify
4️⃣ (Optional) Submit to Google Podcasts & Amazon Music
💡 Pro Tip:
Tracking Your Podcast Analytics 📊
Once your podcast is live, you may wonder how to track listener stats.
🔹 Total Downloads (Per episode & lifetime)
🔹 Where listeners are tuning in from (Country & City)
🔹 Which platforms they’re using (Apple, Spotify, etc.)
🔹 Listener Drop-Off Rates (How long they listen before stopping)
Don’t stress about numbers yet! This is about building momentum & consistency before heavy promotion. 🚀
Your Action Steps for Today:
✅ Ensure your Buzzsprout account is fully set up
✅ Submit your podcast to Apple & Spotify (optional: Google & Amazon)
✅ Check your analytics but don’t obsess over them yet!
