What does true leadership look like through the eyes of Jesus? The answer might surprise you.

Our weekend reflection explores Jesus's revolutionary teaching on leadership from Mark 10:42-45, where He challenges the conventional power dynamics we often witness in the world. When leaders around us flaunt their authority and control others, Jesus boldly declares, "But among you it will be different."

The radical concept Jesus presents turns leadership on its head – the greatest leaders must become servants, and those who want to be first must become "the slave of everyone else." The tendency to control situations or push for our own way runs counter to Jesus's example, who "came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many." His ultimate sacrifice represents the purest form of the servant leadership He calls us to embody.
