Episode Summary:

On February 13th I attended a hearing entitled Problems with Immigration and Customs Enforcement Interrogation, Detention and Removal Proceedings. The hearing was to address concerns regarding American citizens and permanent residents who might be inappropriately detained and even deported by ICE officials. What was inadvertently emphasized was the number of individuals with mental disabilities, some immigrants and some not, who are getting caught in enforcement efforts and without appropriate supports are having very negative outcomes while in ICE custody.
