On November 21, 1971, a man known as D.B. Cooper, boarded a flight from Portland to Seattle. He threatened to detonate a bomb if a ransom of $200, 000 was not paid. After receiving the ransom, he then released the passengers and ordered the plane to fly to Mexico. In mid-flight he jumped out of the plane with his ransom money never to be seen again.
