As Paul begins to address the purpose of his writing he names, not only the shocking turn of the people to believing a false gospel, but he names at least four problems in this early church experience that we must still guard against in our day. The enemy is real and always at work. He does the most damage by bringing doctrine that looks, feels, and sounds closest to the truth.
