DBD 258: Conditioning the Whole Soul to Respond in Christ Likeness- Part 4 of 5
“To respond as Christ, we must be conditioned like Christ, by the disciplines of Christ.”
This is the summary statement for this week of episodes. The challenge before us as we pursue Christlike formation of our soul, is how do we respond to life’s situations and other people and their needs, as Christ would if he were in our place?Being a disciple of Jesus is about living in obedience to him, but obedience is more than being told what to do and doing it, that is servanthood, which is part of our life as disciples, but not all of it. Genuine obedience means being true to another. In that way, obedience to Christ would mean knowing what to do without having to be told all the time.In these episodes we consider the spiritual practices which conditioned Jesus for the holy responses he demonstrated in scripture. We talk about what it is to be “God-conscious,” and what practices are helping us grow in Christlikeness.
