Why is this teaching and concept of The Way of the Devout Heart so important? A casual Christian life wherein we approach prayer and soul care as a negotiable practice will not produce the sort of soul endurance that Jesus very strongly admonishes believers to have as the end of the age draws near. Matthew 24:12-13 is a passage not to be taken lightly, and it is repeated Mark 13:13 and Luke 21:19.
