One of the consistent themes found in Psalm 119 is the various pressures which comes against the devout heart who is traveling the way of holiness. The troubles of life which are common to all people are there, but along with that comes the unique struggles which rise from pursuing life with God in a world under the rule of Satan and evil. It is the adage of paddling upstream, going against the current, and if one is truly seeking the way of holiness that soul will be moving against the current of secular culture. Thanks be to God we have a resource of renewal in the word of God!
