What is often called arrogance or self-centered audacity by the more timid souls, could actually be a genuine holy boldness which comes from confidence in God and his word. It can be offensive to some, but Jesus had it, Jesus promoted it, and Jesus was despised for it. You can almost hear the Pharisees, "Who does he think he is? He really has the unmitigated gall!"
