Task Force X, as it's officially known, is typically composed of characters with unique abilities or skills, often led by government operative Amanda Waller. The team members are usually expendable, and they are coerced into service through threats or promises of reduced sentences. The concept has been a recurring element in DC Comics since its debut in the late 1980s.
