Day 1–2 (Arrival & Resort Days): Arrived at Aulani, settled into the resort, stocked up on groceries via a Target pickup order, and spent time relaxing around the pools and dining across the street at Monkeypod Kitchen.
Day 3 (Hiking & North Shore Exploration): Hiked the Nānākuli Lookout trail to see the World War II pillboxes, visited Laniakea Beach (Turtle Beach) to observe green sea turtles with a naturalist, explored Haleiwa, ate shrimp at Big Wave Shrimp food truck, had Matsumoto Shave Ice, and watched the sunset from Haleiwa Beach Park.
Day 4 (Kualoa Ranch Ziplining & East Coast): Headed to the east coast to ride the 7-zipline tour through the valley at Kualoa Ranch, grab grilled chicken at Huli Huli Chicken, and get soft-shaved ice at Ululani’s.
Day 5 (Photoshoot, Snorkeling, & Local Gems): Took family and engagement photos on Aulani’s secret beach, went unguided snorkeling at Kahe Point (Electric Beach), visited a local cat cafe (Beans & Dreams), and stopped by a local run specialty shop (Runner’s HI) near Pearl Harbor.
Day 6 (Pearl Harbor & Luau): Members of the group visited the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor using 24-hour advance release tickets, followed by an evening at the Mauku Warriors Luau featuring cultural demonstrations, buffets, and fire knife dancing.
Day 7 (Departure Day): Checked luggage with Bell Services for a full extra pool day, dined at Off the Hook, refreshed inside Aulani’s Luana Lounge locker rooms, and caught late-night red-eye flights back to the East Coast.

Port of Embarkation: Vancouver, Canada (Canada Place)
Arrived the day before the cruise, stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront, rented hotel bikes to cycle around the Stanley Park Seawall, met up with a friend for breakfast, and utilized the hotel’s direct luggage drop-off service before boarding the Disney Wonder.
Glacier Day (Dawes Glacier / Endicott Arm)
Observed icebergs, eagles, and sunbathing seals from Decks 9 and 10 before embarking on the Glacier Explorer excursion. The smaller boat provided an up-close view of three major glacier calving events, waterfall views in side inlets, and unexpected raftings of sea otters.
Port Stop 1 (Skagway)
Bypassed standard tour buses to rent a car from Klondike Electric Bicycles for a self-guided drive along the Klondike Highway into Canada’s Yukon Territory. Highlights included passing through passport control, visiting the Yukon Suspension Bridge, snapping photos at the Yukon border sign, hiking to a waterfall, and enjoying local beer at Skagway Brewing Company.
Port Stop 2 (Juneau)
Booked an independent small-boat tour with Juneau Whale Watching, experiencing close-up humpback whale bubble-net feeding, viewing the Mendenhall Glacier from the water, and grabbing fish and chips at The Hangar on the Wharf while watching seaplanes take off.
Port Stop 3 (Ketchikan)
Participated in an independent guided kayak excursion out of a nearby harbor, paddling for 2.5 hours past bald eagles, scenic tree-lined shorelines, and a bachelor pod of 1,300-pound male sea lions hunting salmon. Ended the day exploring Creek Street and watching salmon leap up the fish ladder.

Port Stop 2 (Olden): All 12 family members embarked on an excursion to the Briksdal Glacier on a rainy day. While most of the group completed the 45-minute uphill hike past dramatic waterfalls, Joe pre-arranged a private “troll car” to transport his parents directly to the top.
Port Stop 3 (Ålesund): The family explored the town’s mountain overlook featuring 400+ stairs. Four family members (Joe, his wife, sister, and daughter) completed the Via Ferrata rock-climbing route to the summit, while the remaining 8 family members walked up the stairs to meet at the top and explore historic WWII pillboxes.
