D&D Classic Rock and Roll Chat

The Rolling Stones have had a late career surge that treated us to two new full-length albums in recent years. The first being "Hackney Diamonds" in 2023 and "Foreign Tongues" in 2026. A lot of material that didn't end up on the first album, found a home on the second album. Both albums have their high points, but which out of the two is The Dude's favorite. Well listen in and find out! #rollingstones #therollingstones #podcast #rockon #ddclassicrock -

The surviving members of the original Alice Cooper Band chose to reunite and start working on a new album in 2024. This is their first full-length album together since Muscle of Love was recorded and released in 1973. Do the members minus Glen Buxton who passed in 1997 re-capture the magic of their earlier work??? Don't be too afraid to listen in and find out!!! #alicecooper #therevengeofalicecooper #podcast #rockon #ddclassicrock

John Fogerty has had a few remakes and tributes to the original CCR material over the years. However, now with more creative freedom in part due to the Creedence Clearwater Revival's publishing rights back in Fogerty's hands, this time he records a true modern day studio tribute to the original material. Which songs are the best ones revisited on this album, you be the judge, in the meantime here I give my take. #ccr #creedenceclearwaterrevival #johnfogerty #legacy #ddclassicrock #rockon #podcast

The Rolling Stones have many live albums, streaming or physical media concert performances, and bootlegs over the years. Yet they still chose in 2023 to dust off and release what was originally a pay-per-view special for a broader physical/digital release over 10 years later. Is "GRRR LIVE!" worth the extra attention. The Dude thinks so, but you'll have to tune in to see if you agree. #podcast #rollingstones #grrrlive #therollingstones #rockon

Released in 2024, Mike Campbell continued to grow his Dirty Knobs catalog with this latest full album release. While still a great straight forward rock and roll journey, there was the feeling of a little less variety on this album, then with the band's first two releases. Still, when you find some great straight forward rock and roll in this day and age...you take it! #mikecampbell #thedirtyknobs #vagabondsvirginsandmisfits #mikecampbellandthedirtyknobs #podcast #rockon -

The tongue and cheek in the title of this album alone, shows Cheap Trick is still in fine form. Even if the title wasn't clever, the music on this latest album from the band released in late 2025, shows even at this point in their career, they are still hitting their stride! #cheaptrick #allwashedup #ddclassicrock #podcast -Spotify Playlist Link: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6w6iieMxvTX0cEuRyzWfdD?si=mGc_dt05Q-aeQEzMDu14Sg

Some bands seem to find or rediscover their groove, when it's driven by politics or political stance. U2 always seems to circle back to arrive in this category. Aside from the messages U2 is looking to convey on this EP, as The Dude isn't here to talk politics...I'm here for the Rock n' Roll. The sound on a good portion of this EP seems to indicate the band has returned to form in terms of that recognizable U2 sound. #U2 #ddclassicrock #podcast
