The coming of aliens to Earth can cause an outburst of space wars, as many movies have shown us in the past. But this is not the case for Denis Villeneuve's Arrival (2016). 
Here, the sci-fi setting is just an excuse to explore ratched sides of human nature and discover the gift offered by, apparently, peaceful and collaborative extra-terrestrial beings: a vision of time where the future can influence the past that could free us from our fear of tomorrow.
