De Ridders van de Retro Tafel

Er is veel gegamed in de afgelopen maanden door de ridders! Zonder enige planning of voorbereiding komt Peter "Retrogamepapa" er samen met Michiel Kroder achter dat ze veel retro games hebben gespeeld. Perfect dus voor deze podcast! Ridder Michiel heeft veel games gespeeld voor Cane & Rinse waaronder ALLE Tekken games, op eentje na. Daarnaast heeft hij het natuurlijk ook nog over een hele speciale shmup. Peter heeft eindelijk een SNES met een 60hz switch en is alle games erop gaan testen. Sommige games werken een beetje rrrrraarrrrrr met 60hz.

Als nieuwe games heeft hij Stellar Blade, Broforce en Darq gespeeld. Maar Peter heeft ook nog een hele speciale shmup gespeeld, namelijk de aller-allereerste horizontaal scrollende shmup genaamd Scramble. Dan nog als klap op den vuurpijl bespreken de ridders de meest zeldzame game op de PS2: Rule of Rose.

Een mysterieuze queeste! In welke games krijg je een beetje dat "Wie is de Mol" gevoel? Waar ben je zelf de mol, waar voel je je meer de kijker die de boel probeert te "Murder She Wroten" als een echte Couchdetective? Retrogamepapa probeert het samen met gastridder Mike van Dooyeweert (Fanservice) uit te pluizen in: Wie is de mol in games?

Vechtspellen! Deze keer praten de ridders over de digitale wereld van het tegen elkaar opnemen in een ouderwets robbertje vechten. Hoe begon het genre, wat zijn onze favoreiten en wat maakt een fighter een goeie fighter? Peter "Retrogamepapa" samen met ridders Michiel en Giancarlo vechten het uitgebreid uit! 

Games en gamereeksen besproken in deze podcast: Street Fighter, Tekken, King of Fighters, Mortal Kombat, Fatal Fury, Bloody Roar, Bushido Blade en nog vele, vele anderen.

Een Zij Queeste over gamewereld ellende, woordgrappen en het kruid droog houden. Er is momenteel vanalles gaande in de game industrie, waarvan helaas maar weinig positief te noemen is. Hele goede studio's die ineens worden opgedoekt, vele ontslagen vallen overal en dat terwijl games alsmaar duurder worden. Waarom gaat het zo slecht? Wat is er aan de hand? Ridders Max en Peter (Retrogamepapa) nemen alle rampspoed door, geven hun mening erover en kijken naar wat zij denken dat de toekomst zal bieden.

Punten die onder andere aan bod komen: Het sluiten van Arkane Studios en Tango Gameworks, Unity ellende en de budget cuts bij Square Enix.

In deze queeste staan alle spullen centraal die je aan kunt sluiten op je console. Al zolang als dat games bestaan hebben developers er unieke apparaten bij gemaakt. In de arcade begon dit al met unieke kasten, maar ook thuis kreeg je al snel allerlei spullen erbij. Welke zijn goed? Welke niet? Hoe denken de ridders er algemeen over, is het een verrijking of onzin?

Wat hebben de ridders zoal gedaan afgelopen tijd? Michiel Kroder en Peter Scheffer (Retrogamepapa) bespreken de laatste games die ze hebben gespeeld en prikken ieder een game uit hun gamecollectie in het steekspel. Zo hebben ze het onder andere over een game met ballen schudden met zaadjes erin, een ranzige Myst game, de eerste Dune game en nog veel meer.

Deze "vooruitblik 2024" had al veel eerder online moeten komen. Retrogamepapa lag te slapen en was vergeten Inmiddels zijn sommige games al uit, maar toch mag het de luisterpret niet drukken. Onder andere Star Wars Dark Forces, Rise of the Ronin, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, Likie a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (plus andere Yakuza) games, The Lost Wild, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle en meer.
