In May 2006, 32-year-old Rey Rivera ran out of his Baltimore home after receiving a sudden, urgent phone call — and was never seen alive again. Six days later, his body was found in a locked, unused conference room at the historic Belvedere Hotel, discovered only because of a mysterious hole in the roof above him.

Police called it suicide. His family and friends called it impossible.
