This week, we're bringing in Amanda Neuber, the Associate Director of the Honors Program here at Temple and a PhD candidate in Psychology, to talk about Pride. Amanda's research focuses on high-achieving students who have been taught to be proud of their academic accomplishments, but what does that mean when combined with pressure to perform, prestige of career options, and changing your major? Of course, we toss around possible answers to whether or not Pride is deadly, but Amanda raises a more important question: is Pride burning the smart cookies?
