What do you do when things don't turn out the way you had hoped? What do you do when you realize your daughter is going to choose a different path for her life, one that will never involve that wedding with your family and friends gathered around you? What do you do when you realize that knee injury is not only going to keep you from the team, but it's going to ruin your scholarship chances for college? What do you do when the doctor tells you that you simply can't have children? What do you do?

The risk in dealing with broken dreams is that you become angry...angry at God and angry at others. But David (from the Bible) shows us another way. While fleeing his capital city from an approaching army, David realizes that nothing of what he had hoped in life is going to work out. His life is literally in pieces. And he does something that opens a door into his heart and that shows us a way to deal with broken dreams.
