On this episode of the Simply Straight Talk Show, we are discussing the impact of criticism.
To be completely honest, no one likes being criticized, especially from people we are not fond of in life. If doesn't matter if we find a person’s criticism to be valid or invalid, it can be a serious blow to our self-esteem and motivation. We all desire to feel accepted and appreciated by our family and peers. The ability to except criticism does not come easy for everyone. Many lacks the understanding of how important criticism is to self-development.
Embracing criticism is to your advantage, especially in the environments that are competitive and emotionally charged. Often, we allow ourselves to become blind or comfortable with our faults. Having outside perspective on a situation allows us to self-reflect and make adjustments in our behavior on how we go about things in our personal and professional lives.
One thing to remember is there is a difference between complaining and criticism. Occasionally, a person may insist that they are giving you criticism when in fact they are just complaining. Complaining is simply random thoughts based on emotions which are not centered around personal growth or development.
In this episode Reggie will share some of the key reasons you should except criticism along with some advice how to use it to your advantage.
