Depression is a stigmatized term in the church. And yet, in the context of the Bible, we see language all over the place that seems to reference the reality of depression, especially in the Psalms. In Psalm 42, the psalmist is looking at his own soul asking, "Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?"
For the next 3 weeks, we'll be looking deeper at depression and attempt to define what it is, why it happens, and where to turn for help when you find your self feeling downcast and discouraged.
