Fitness apps - and actually a lot of non-fitness apps - use daily streaks or tracking number of consecutive days to help motivate you and encourage you to stay consistent.

And a lot of the time instead of the app continuing to serve the purpose we signed up for, it becomes more about making sure we hit that daily streak one way or another.

Here are a few thoughts on daily streak obsession, how to recognise it, and how to take a moment to pause, reflect, and figure out the best way to move forward from it.
