The boys read an article about people that crap on the idea that you like doing pajama wrestling or murder yoga, or whatever you want to call it.

If you do any sort of combat sport, eventually people are going to wonder why you do it. Sometimes they are critical of it. Depending on who’s doing the criticizing it can cause bigger issues in your life and passion.

Many of us take up the BJJ evangelist path and more or less people just get sick of hearing about it....hence why this podcast was started. In those cases we just need to learn to settle down our enthusiasm and just answer whatever questions they have if they seem interested, or ignore them if they’re being obtuse.

The real problems start when friends and especially family don’t support you. Even worse is when your significant other wants you to quit.

These are the conversations that actually matter. You need to sell to them the love and passion you have for the sport, and be willing to compromise with them so you have a good home life as well.

Best advice is to make sure you spend at least an equivalent amount of time on your relationship as you do on Jiu Jitsu.
