Dealing With Reentry pt. III
A divine reset
Galatians 1:1-10
“This letter is from Paul, an apostle. I was not appointed by any group of people or any human authority, but by Jesus Christ himself and by God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead. All the brothers and sisters here join me in sending this letter to the churches of Galatia. May God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen. I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ. Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you. I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed. Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.”
‭‭
Daddy, watch me!”
It’s likely you said this phrase – or a similar one -- as a child. It’s a kind of universal language for children, an expression of our intrinsic longing to be seen, approved and accepted by our dads. Whether it was nailing that back flip off the diving board, shooting hoops in the driveway, or a straight-A report card, we longed to hear him say, “I love you and I’m so proud of you.”

Acceptance (whose we are)
1 Timothy‬ ‭1:15‬
“This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all.”
‭‭
Affirmation (Who we are)
Psalm 139:13-16 The Message (MSG)
Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day
Approval (what we do)
Romans 14:18 Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.
