This is Part 3 of our Dear Atheist series in which we share one thought that we hope will encourage those who are struggling with their faith to keep on searching and to keep on seeking.

In this episode, we share. Dear Atheist, We Wish You Knew What It Really Means to Be a Christian. We realize many have heard different ideas and have even experienced Christian community and church in various forms.

But personally experiencing Christ is different than experiencing Church and what others may say Christianity is. Take a few minutes and find out wha the difference really is.

Sadly, many atheists and deconstructionists share stories of their tainted experiences in local churches and/or in relationships with those who call themselves Christians.

That can be very confusing and very detrimental to a person’s pursuit of what real Christianity is.

Ultimately, not everyone in the church has truly been born again. Not everyone in the church is a mature Christian, even if they have been saved.

Christians are flawed people who still live in this flesh and still struggle with their own propensity to sin. We are also on a journey to becoming experientially who we are positionally and we fail.

The point is that while Christians should image Christ well and should be like Paul who said, “Follow me as I follow Christ,” oftentimes they fall short.

Christ is the One who died for our sins. He is the One we place our faith in.. Not other Christians.

So, while others may have done something to hurt you, Christ died to save you.

Don’t let what others have done to you cause you to miss what Christ has done for you.
