Justice starts with the neutral to set a tone of safety and the party's abilities to exercise free will. Mediators are leaders - they must know where they are going and why. What's your "why" for justice? What values help you achieve that in your mediation practice?

Mediation in its "purist" sense should be party-driven and the mediator should be safeguarding "party self-determination or free will". Did you know there are a few different types of mediation? Some models cause mediation to feel like an extension of the courtroom and it comes down to a mediator's understanding of neutrality.
