AWAKENING THE HEART | EPISODE 4

Dear when comfort makes us sleep,

Not all spiritual sleep comes from suffering. Sometimes it comes from ease. From routine. From a life that feels manageable enough to stop paying attention.

Jesus once told His disciples to watch and pray. Not because they were rebelling, but because they were tired. Their spirit was willing, but their flesh was weak. Comfort did not make them evil. It made them unaware.

Spiritual drift rarely feels dramatic. It sounds like I will pray later. I will deal with that someday. This is good enough. Nothing feels wrong, but nothing feels alive either.

Comfort is not the enemy. But when comfort replaces hunger, when routine replaces wonder, when ease dulls devotion, the soul quietly falls asleep.

If you feel a gentle longing stirring inside you, that is not guilt. It is grace. An invitation to wake up again. Not with fear, but with love.

Until He comes, may we stay attentive. May we rest without drifting. May we live awake, even in ordinary comfort.
