My artifact today is a box of 200 letters from the 1950s all addressed to the same man.

Who was he? Who were his friends? Who did they become?

The letters lead us on a mid-20th century whirlwind tour through that includes a Broadway show about garment workers, poisoning pigeons, NFL journalism, and a mafia mastermind.
