Death Covenant or the Mercy of God; that has always been the choice. Even at Sinai we find Israel had a choice. Moses detailed it in Deuteronomy saying: “But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil.”(Deu 30:14-15). It is then, not surprise that Isaiah tells Judah that they have made a covenant with Death.

Death Covenant finds Isaiah describing the choices of Life or death. What happens when a people reject their God? What happens if they make the wrong decision? As the Lord told Elijah, “I have reserved for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the kneel to the image of Baal.” Paul writes about this His Epistle to Romans 11:4. There is always a remanant dedicated to the Lord.
